Introduction

The Tourism Department enrollment began in 1993, now forges a multi-level system of graduate, undergraduate, and professional programme. We have 15 full-time teachers, including 3 professors, 6 associate professors.The faculty also includes fivepart-time professors from tourism entrepreneurs or other famous universities.

The Tourism Department embodies the combination of theory and application, interdisciplinary, comprehensive discipline, etc. The specialized researchdisciplines are as follows: tourism planning and management,tourism business management, regionaltourism development,tourism marketing, leisure and tourism culture management.

The objectives

The aim of this programme is to develop students’ knowledge and management skills in the tourism industry through a blend of strategic perspectives and pragmatic implementation. Industry practice, management skills and research competencies will be developed through the interdisciplinary subject exposure, problem identification, decision making theory and management application. The students will be capable to work in tourist administrative, tourism enterprises, tourism institutions or colleges.

1.Master Qualification Exam

This exam will be taken in the fourth semester after completing the core module. The applicants must get the required credits and participate in the oral and written examination. The eligible applicants can continue the master study course. The applicants who doesnt pass the exam cannot go on studying and will be issued academic transcript.

2.Thesis proposal

Thesis proposal must complete no later than the fourth semester.

The total credits required

Master of Tourism Management students need to achieve 35 credits or more (including 35 credits) Total credits.

Ⅶ Other requirements

The graduate students must participate in teaching practice. The tutor will assess the students work and give 1 credit to the eligible applicants. The students who did not do the teaching assistant work or fail in the assessment will not entitled the master degree.
