Ⅰ  Introduction

Tourism management was granted to issue the master degree in 2004 and was granted to issue the MTA degree in 2010,which was one of the first MTA training institutions in Shandong province. in 2012,we were granted to issue the doctor degree. At the same time, we obtained a series of Scientific research achievements. There are 5 teaching and research sections: Tourism Development and Planning, Hotel Management, Travel Service Management, Leisure Management and Tourism Economy and Marketing. In addition, Tourism Management Department has Institute of Regional Tourism Development, Tourism Planning Center as well as Hotel and Hospitality Training Center. In recent years the faculty has made many achievements in marine tourism. The research of Marine Tourism is getting the leading level in China.

Ⅱ  The  objectives

The aim of this programme is to develop students’ knowledge and management skills in the tourism industry through a blend of strategic perspectives and pragmatic implementation. Industry practice, management skills and research competencies will be developed through the interdisciplinary subject exposure, problem identification, decision making theory and management application. The students will be capable to work in tourist administrative, tourism enterprises, tourism institutions or colleges.

This is a full-time programme that is normally completed in 3-6 years,successive postgraduate and doctoral programs of study is normally completed in 4-8years.

（C）Guarantee modules

1.Doctor Qualification Exam

The applicants must complete all courses and get required credits in the first

year.The examination at the end of  second semester in the first year,it

include oral and written examination.The examination may combine with

thesis proposal .

2.Thesis proposal

Thesis proposal must complete at the end of second semester in the first year.

Ⅶ Other Requirements

1.Basic requirements of the doctoral dissertation

(1)Title：Title should be related with tourism management and explain significant problem of tourism.

(2)Innovation: The dissertation must have innovation at design,content,method and conclusion.

(3)Academic level：the dissertation should be published in the Core journals.

(4)Workload：the time of designing, researching,looking up the literature and writing

should be in a year and a half to two years.The number of words should be more than ten

thousand of words.

2.The requirement of Scientific research

(1)Master academic development of tourism management.

(2)Master the main research methods and literature retrieval of tourism    

Management.

(3)Be able to put forward research title independent and carry out research.The project

and conclusion should have Innovation.

(4)Be able to assist tutor to instruct master.

(5)Be proficient in using the first foreignlanguage and be albe to read literature in second foreign language.

3.Other requirement of teaching

(1)Before applying for dissertation oral defense,it should publish two(include two) or more papers at Ocean University of China identified Core journals by the first author.

(2)Before applying for dissertation oral defense,it should complete foreign language exam of Ocean University of China required(providing Certificate of cet6 or through the exam organized by Ocean University of China before graduate).

The above two aspects of requirements are the necessary condition to apply doctor's degree.
