Prof. Kwang Cheol Jeong from University of Florida visited our college on April 3, and gave a presentation on April 4. Dr. Jeong’s ultimate research goal is to intervene pathogens in animals for the benefit of animals and humans. To achieve this goal, his research areas are not only in basic sciences but also in applied sciences. The primary goal of basic science research is to understand molecular mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance, colonization, host-microbe interactions, and survival of pathogens in hosts.
Prof. Hong Lin, Qingjuan Tang, Jingxue Wang, Xue Zhao, Shiyuan Dong, Qing Kong and more than 30 graduates took part in this seminar, and communicated with Dr. Jeong about the selectivity of chitosan particles, the preparation of chitosan particles, the interaction of chitosan and binding proteins from pathogens, etc. (Article/Figure: Qing Kong)
