Established in 2022, the Secretariat for International Cooperation in Multidisciplinary Polar Research (SICMPC) serves as a platform for academic exchanges between OUC and foreign universities and research institutions to promote international cooperation in polar research. SICMPC is engaged in improving understanding of changes in the Arctic and Antarctic and their global impacts based on multidisciplinary research. SICMPC organizes international cooperation in polar science, carrying out cooperative polar expeditions with institutions in the United States, Canada, Norway, Korea, Russia, Australia and other countries, and facilitating deep research cooperation with scientists from foreign countries. SICMPC updates polar expedition news and research highlights of OUC on the website of the Key Lab of Polar Oceanography and Global Ocean Change and organizes the International Symposium on Polar Ocean and Global Change.
