The Joint Research Center between OUC and the University of Tasmania (UTAS) was established on September 13, 2018. It is a high-level international center for the training of marine talent. The center is operated by OUC’s College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences, together with the Institute of Marine and Arctic Science of UTAS. The center focuses on oceanic and atmospheric sciences, including physical oceanography, marine observation technology, polar science, fisheries science (marine aquaculture and nutrition), law of the sea and other related areas. Through well-rounded cooperation, the center introduces high-quality scientific and technological resources to OUC and UTAS, further promotes bilateral exchanges and cooperation, and lays a solid foundation for the cultivation of top-tier talent.
