Sars-Fang Centre for Marine Molecular Biology, located at OUC, performs basic research in evolutionary and developmental biology using various model organisms. It was jointly established by OUC and UiB, and it is operated with an advanced model of management. The center is affiliated to the Key Laboratory of Marine Genetics and Breeding (OUC), Ministry of Education. The research groups of the center seek to understand the fundamental evolutionary and developmental biology process, using cutting-edge molecular/cell/computational biology approaches. The mission of the center is to expand the boundary of human knowledge in marine biology and provide solutions to the challenges in fisheries, aquaculture, and biomedicine.
