Sino-Thai Academic Center on Marine and Fishery Sciences was jointly established in November 2017 by OUC and Kasetsart University (KU). It is one of the most important international platforms for OUC to cooperate with ASEAN. The center brings together multi-disciplinary resources of oceanography, fisheries, food science, medicine and marine life science. The goal of the center is to strengthen exchanges between China and Thailand, enhance the vitality of scientific and educational innovation, and build a demonstration center for educational cooperation under the Belt & Road Initiative. The “KU-OUC Dual-Degree Program for Postgraduates” is one of the key tasks of the center. OUC has put in place a quality assurance system for the program to ensure the quality of international student education in China. OUC has also joined the Alliance of China-Thailand Universities as an executive director in 2021. In the future, the center plans to expand cooperation with educational institutions in ASEAN countries in the joint training of talent, to lay a solid foundation for the establishment of the China-ASEAN Fisheries College.
