The Institute for Ocean Politics Studies (IOPS) atOcean University of China was established on January 22, 2013. The IOPS is acomprehensive and multidisciplinary centre dedicated to research, education andtraining on ocean politics, maritime security and oceans governance. It alsoprovide authoritative policy development advice and other support services togovernment agencies in China and the wider Asia-Pacific region, as well as toregional and international organizations and ocean-related industry.

The IOPS has a strong emphasis upon capacity buildingfor governments, navies and ocean related sectors, international and regionalorganizations. The Ocean University of China offers top multidisciplinarymaritime undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in China, includingboth professional and academic degrees. Our capacity building capabilitiesinvolve a highly qualified staff, headed by Pro.Yanhong Qin and Dr.Jianying Ma,and a cadre of Centre Fellows of international repute.
