Shakeel Kazmi holds doctor of law (S.J.D. 2012) and masters of law (LL.M. 2010) degrees in Environmental Law from the Pace University School of Law. He is also a graduate from the American University Washington College of Law (LL.M. 1994). He is an adjunct professor at NYU-Poly and has held visiting appointments at Wuhan University and Qingdao University in China. In addition to teaching climate change law and policy, Professor Kazmi has practiced law in New York for more than 16 years. He is also an advisor to Ministry of Climate Change Pakistan and is actively involved in climate change treaty negotiations. In this role, he has attended Green Climate Fund board of directors meetings in Seoul and Berlin. Professor Kazmi researches in the area of Climate Change, focusing on the climate change displacement and renewable energy in developing countries.
