Zhang Chen

Zhang Chen, has been a Ph.D. Candidate of Wuhan University, School of Journalism and Communication since 2010 and she got her MA in Wuhan University, School of journalism and communication in 2006, and BA in South-central University for Nationalities in 2000. She is currently a lecturer at the College of Liberal Arts, Journalism and Communication, Ocean University of China. Her research interests include media ethics and cultural studies, mass communication research and network studies.

Zhang Chen has published over 10 research papers, and her currently research project is “Stigmatization of mental illness in the media”.

Zhang Chen teaches below courses at Ocean University of China: Media ethics and law (both undergraduate and graduate student courses), Mass communication theories research (graduate student course); Internet communication research (undergraduate student course), Public opinion (undergraduate student course), College Chinese (undergraduate student course), etc.

In addition to teaching and researching, Zhang Chen is also active as a media critic and a freelance. She has published over 30 articles on The China youth daily, and been hired as news commentators by The Public Daily newspaper group, etc.
