Dr. Qu Jinliang (born in 1956) is the professor and doctoral supervisor of the College of Liberal Arts, Journalism and Communication, Ocean University of China, the director of Institute for Maritime Culture Studies, the director of Sino-Korean Center for Maritime Cultures, and the subject leader of the Key Base of Ministry of Education and National 985 Project for Maritime Development Research, and the National Research Center for Cultural Industry. He is also the leader of the first-level discipline of History and the chief expert of the major program of the National Social Science Fund. His main research fields are maritime culture theory, marine civilization history, and protection of cultural heritage and the strategic development of culture. His main books include Introduction to Marine Culture, Marine Culture and Society, China Ocean Culture, the Long Compiled History of China Maritime Culture, and the Reconstruction of Chinese Maritime Cultural Values, etc. He is also the editor-in-chief of Series Publication Maritime Culture Studies in China and Report on the Development of China Marine Culture (a social scientific blue book of the Ministry of Education).
He was once the visiting professor, visiting scholar and Ph.D. Supervisor of many universities in Korea, Japan and America. And he has two books and more than ten academic papers, which has been translated and published abroad.
