Ouyang Xia was born on December 1966. She was a psychology graduate from Qinghai Normal University. She has engaged in journalism for 10 years. She is a member of Writers ' Association of Qingdao and currently serves as an associate professor and master's supervisor at College of Liberal Arts, Journalism and Communication, Ocean University of China.

Her major research interests include journalism practice and journalism psychology. The courses she has taught include “News Gathering and Writing”, “News Gathering and Writing”, “Newspaper Editing ”, “The Study of Depth Reports”, ”Journalism Practice”, “Introduction to Humanity of College” etc. She is the author of News Recovery and Expression, News Gathering and Writing, and Newspaper Editing .She has published professional papers in more than 100,000 words.  

Ouyang Xia has won the Outstanding Achievement Award of Social Sciences in Qingdao, the University Undergraduate Teaching Achievement Award, the Honorable Award of Undergraduate Teaching, the Award of Teacher Incentive Fund, the Excellence Award of Course Teaching, the Woman Star Award of Merit, etc.
