Master of Science in Control Theory and Control Engineering

Department of Automation and Measurement offers a full-time three-year program leading to an academic

degree of Master of Science (M.S.) in Control Theory and Control Engineering.Control theory is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering and mathematics that deals with the behavior of dynamical systems with inputs, while control engineering mainly focuses on the application of control theory to design systems with desired performance. This program is intended to combine science and engineering together to equip students with both a solid, systematic background in control theory and practical knowledge in control engineering. Candidates enrolled in this program will receive intensive training on the analysis, modeling, synthesis, control, simulation, and information processing of complex systems.Through mastery of computer-based control technology and understanding of state of the art in control science, they are expected to bridge theory and practice, and conduct independent research and development in control theory and engineering and other related disciplines. When close to the end of the program, all graduate students should be able to survey literatures written in foreign languages and write regular research papers.

Master of Science in Detection Technology and Automatic Equipment

Department of Automation and Measurement offers a full-time three-year program leading to an academic

degree of Master of Science (M.S.) in Detection Technology and Automatic Equipment. The practical use of detection technology and sensors is to measure the output performance of a complex system and feedback the necessary information to the input that can make corrections toward desired performance. This program is intended to equip students with a solid, systematic background in detection technology and automatic equipment, and practical knowledge in engineering implementations. Candidates enrolled in this program will receive intensive training on the analysis, modeling, synthesis, control, simulation, and information processing of complex systems.Through mastery of the modern detection technology and automatic equipment, they are expected to bridge theory and practice, and conduct independent research and development in all related disciplines. Master of Science in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System
