History

1980

Undergraduate program of Marine Mechanical Engineering was approved by Ministry of Education. Then Department of Marine Engineering was established.

1983

Undergraduate Program of Marine Mechanical Engineering began to recruite students.

1985

Undergraduate Program of Coastal Engineering began to recruite students.

1988

Marine Mechanical Engineering was retitled Mechanical Design and Manufacturing. Coastal Engineering was retitled Port and Waterway Engineering.

1989

Program of Industrial Automation began to recruite junior college students.

1990

Program of Industry and Civil Engineering began to recruite junior college students.

1991

Undergraduate Program of Industrial Automation began to recruite students.

1993

College of Engineering was established, including Department of Mechatronics Engineering,

Department of Civil Engineering, Research Office and Laboratory of Dynamics of Marine Engineering, Research Institution of Coastal Engineering.

Port and Waterway Engineering was retitled Port Channel and River Control Project. Program of Real Estate Management recruited students.

1994

Program of Architectural Engineering began to recruite undergraduate students.

1996

Master degree program of Port, Coastal and Offshore Engineering was approved.

1998

College of Engineering moved to Maidao Campus. PhD program of Port, Coastal and Offshore Engineering was approved.

Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Port Channel and River Control Project, Civil Engineering

were retitled as Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Automation, Port Channel and Coastal Engineering, Civil Engineering.

2000

Master degree program of Engineering Thermophysics and Disaster Prevention and Reduction Engineering and Protective Engineering were approved.

2003

Postdoctoral Program of Hydraulic Engineering was approved. Master degree programs of Control Theory and Control Engineering, Hydraulics and River DynamicsManagement Science and Engineering were approved.

Undergraduate Programs of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Industrial Design and Engineering Management began to recruit students.

2005

First discipline master degree program of Hydraulic engineering was approved. New department of Ocean Engineering was established, including Port Channel

and Coastal Engineering and Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering.

2006

College of Engineering moved to Laoshan Campus.

Master degree programs of Hydrology and Water Resources, Hydraulic Structure Engineering, Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering,

Mechatronics Engineering were approved. Department of Automation was established, with undergraduate program of Automation.

2007

Port, Coastal and Offshore Engineering was approved as National Key Discipline.

2008

Key Laboratory of Shandong Province was approved. Department of Automation was retitled Department of Automation and Measurement.

Port Channel and Coastal Engineering was approved as National Specialty.

2011

First discipline master degree programs of Mechanical Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering were approved.

2012

Port Channel and Coastal Engineering, Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Automation were selected into “Excellent Engineers Education

Program” of Ministry of Education.
