An Overview of the Alumni Association of Ocean University of China

The Alumni Association of Ocean University of China (AAOUC) is a non-profit, nationwide organization formed voluntarily by the alumni of Ocean University of China (OUC) and alumni organizations all over the world. It aims to carry forward the fine traditions of OUC, strengthen the connection between alumni at home and abroad so as to develop OUC and promote China’s marine research and education to contribute to the national rejuvenation.

Since the founding of OUC, it has cultivated over 400,000 talent who are playing pivotal roles in serving the development of the country and society, especially in promoting the progress of marine-related sectors. They have made remarkable achievements and won wide acclaim for OUC.

The Alumni Association was founded in 2004 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of OUC. In April 2011, OUC held the First Alumni Representative Meeting, which marked the founding the association, which became the 28th alumni association registered by the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs.
