OUC Won Two Prizes of the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award

The National Science and Technology Conference, the National Science and Technology Award Conference, and the general assembly of the CAS and CAE members were held in Beijing on June 24. President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech after presenting the awards. OUC won two second prizes in the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, with one project as the team leader and the other as a team member.

Prof. Ai Qinghui from OUC’s College of Fisheries was invited to Beijing to attend the conference and receive the award. His project, “Building and Industrial Application of Precision Nutrition Technology System for Marine Fish Farming”, won a second prize of the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award. This was the only awarded project in aquaculture this year, highlighting OUC’s leading position in fisheries science nationwide. Another project, “Key Technologies and Applications for Beach Protection and Restoration in Complex Coastal Environments”, led by OUC alumnus Cai Feng, with OUC as a major participating institution and Prof. Liang Bingchen from OUC’s College of Engineering as the third participant, also won a second prize.

OUC has consecutively won five National Science and Technology Awards over the past four years as the primary participating institution, demonstrating the university’s outstanding contributions to serving China’s national strategic needs and regional socioeconomic development.
