On November 13, the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education made an important announcement regarding the leadership of OUC. Prof. Zhang Junfeng has been appointed as the new President and Vice Chair of the University Council, following the completion of Prof. Yu Zhigang's tenure as president. The announcement was made during a meeting attended by Mr. He Guangcai, the Director General of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education, and Mr. Gong Wendong, the Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Shandong Provincial CPC Committee. Both leaders delivered speeches emphasizing the significance of this appointment. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Tian Hui, Chair of the University Council.

Prof. Zhang Junfeng, born in February 1968, is a leading scholar in pharmacology. Prior to his appointment at OUC, Prof. Zhang served as the Vice President of Nanjing University.
