On November 27-28, the 2022 International Conference on Future Ocean Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation, hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and organized by Ocean University of China, was successfully held in Qingdao. The conference set up three sub-forums with themes of physical oceanography and marine information technology, aquatic resources development and protection, and environmental pollution control and ecological protection, with a total of 63 reports delivered. The conference was attended online by over 2,000 people from universities, research institutes and enterprises from nearly 20 countries.
Prof. Wei Zhiqiang, Vice President of OUC, attended the forum and delivered a speech. He pointed out that Ocean University of China, a key comprehensive university with strengths in oceanography and fisheries, emphasizes global engagement, serves the national strategy of building a strong maritime country, and proactively builds a global network of marine education and research with partner institutions to support the UN sustainable development goal of the ocean. This forum has built a new platform for cooperation among Chinese and foreign research institutes and enterprises in marine science, fisheries and environment. It explores new models of international cooperation in the talent cultivation, which promotes further exchanges and practical cooperation.
