On June 17, Consul General Igawahara Masaru of the Consulate-General of Japan in Qingdao led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). President Yu Zhigang received the guests.

After extending a warm welcome to the delegation, President Yu gave an overview of OUC, including the layout of its academic programs on each campus, and its exchanges and cooperation with Japanese universities and research institutes. He fully acknowledged the achievements in academic exchanges and research cooperation, and expressed his expectations for strengthening partnerships.  

Consul General Igawahara Masaru said that 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. Exchanges and cooperation between the two sides have produced many mutually beneficial outcomes over the years. The Consulate-General of Japan in Qingdao will continue to promote bilateral ties on educational and cultural fronts.
