On June 17, 2022, Prof. Liu Yong, Vice President for Education and International Affairs of Ocean University of China (OUC) met with Dr. Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) of the University of Adelaide, via video link for discussions about strengthening exchanges and cooperation.  

In his remarks, Prof. Liu Yong mentioned his visit to the University of Adelaide a few years ago. He said that OUC has always attached great importance to the strategic partnership with Adelaide. He hoped that the partnership could be brought to a higher level with joint efforts in supporting Haide College and exploring new opportunities of substantive cooperation.

Dr. Jessica Gallagher pointed out that this distinctive partnership focuses on areas of significant priority for both Australia and China. The two sides work closely together to build talent with the necessary skill sets to help grow the economies and identify solutions to global challenges. She looked forward to growing the partnership and fully tapping into its potentials. As the first cohort of Haide students are going to Adelaide next semester, she said that the university would help the students explore the friendly and dynamic city, and enjoy the great things that the partnership has to offer.
