Three Research Findings of OUC Listed Among China’s Top 10 Oceanology and Limnology Advances in 2021

On January 21, 2022, China’s Top 10 Oceanology and Limnology Advances in 2021 were announced, three of which are research findings of Ocean University of China (OUC). This is the eighth consecutive year that OUC has seen its research findings in this important list, fully demonstrating the university’s influence in this field.


The three listed findings are as follows: “Unique life characteristics of microorganisms in extreme marine environments and mechanisms of environmental and ecological effects”, a study led by Prof. Zhang Yuzhong (College of Marine Life Sciences), “Progress in physiological adaptation and distribution patterns of shellfish”, a study led by Prof. Dong Yunwei (College of Fisheries), and “Global warming enhances the impact of the North Pacific Ocean on ENSO”, a study led by PhD candidate Wang Shengpeng and Prof. Jin Zhao.
