13th Chinese Annual Symposium on Marine Drugs and the 2017 International Marine Drug Symposium Convened in Qingdao

  

The 13th Chinese Annual Symposium on Marine Drugs and the 2017 International Marine Drug Symposium was held in Qingdao from 5th to 9th November.

 
With the theme of “developing marine biological resources and boosting innovation of the source of marine drugs”, the symposium focused on the discovery of lead compounds in marine drugs, large-scale manufacturing technology for active functional molecules, research on drug candidates and new drugs, and marine biological functional products. The symposium provided a high-level platform for scholarly exchange between marine drug experts from home and abroad and in-depth discussions on the latest progress and results in these fields. Distinguished scholars from China, the US, Australia, Hungary, South Korea and the Netherlands all delivered reports. The symposium also included the Young Scholar’s Forum and the Doctoral Researcher’s Forum on Marine Drugs, where 36 emerging scholars delivered reports.


More than 560 experts and postgraduate students in China attended the symposium, making it the largest turnout since the symposium was first held. Prof. Yu Guangli from the School of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ocean University of China was invited to give a report. Prof. Li Guoqiang, Prof. Zhu Weiming, Prof. Yang Jinbo, Prof. Li Wenbao, Prof. Li Haide, Prof. Zhao Xia and Prof. Liu Hongbing delivered keynote speeches and Prof. Tang Yu, Prof. Zhou Jianfeng, and Assistant Prof. Yu Rilei presented papers at the Young Scholar’s Forum.
