Ceremony was held on the morning of October 9, 2016 in Shengli Building of OUC Yushan Campus for conferring Honorary Professor on Dr.George R.Stark, Academician of the US National Academy of Sciences, UK Royal Society and American Academy of Medical Sciences. OUC Vice President Li Weiran conferred the certificate to Academician George R.Stark. Present at the ceremony was CAE Academician Guan Huanshi, Director of Marine Biomedical Research Institute of Qingdao.   

Grateful for his OUC honorary professorship, Academician George R.Stark said that the development of science and technology in China gave rise to many talented scientists who have made a large number of innovative results. Taking this opportunity, he hoped for a better cooperation and exchange with Chinese scientists and Ocean University of China

Academician Guan Huashi said that it is a significant event for OUC School of Medicine and Pharmacy to confer the honorary professor on Dr. George R.Stark. Teaching and researching on pharmacy, SMP focuses on developing new drugs which mainly depends on the basic research of biology. Academician George R.Stark is a prestigious scientist in molecular biology and bio-chemistry, and his appointment will contribute to the development of SMP, according to Academician Guan Huashi. 

SMP Dean Yu Guangli briefed the meeting about SMP construction. OUC HR Director Fan Qiwei shared the profile of Academician George R.Stark, who later gave a report on Modulation of STAT3-dependent signaling by EGFR, U-STAT3 and lysine methyletion.
