OUC Initiates Alliance for Marine Courses at Marine-related Universities


Prof. Li Weiran, Vice President of the Ocean University of China (OUC), attended the inaugural meeting of the Alliance for Marine Courses at Marine-related Universities hosted by OUC and co-sponsored by Beijing Shiji Chaoxing Information Technology Development Co., Ltd (Chaoxing Group) on March 31, 2016 in Qingdao. 


The alliance will, using computer and Internet technology, bring together resources from member institutions and boost course reform, so as to jointly establish a high-quality marine-related course system to be shared by students at marine-related universities nationwide, said Vice President Li Weiran as he addressed the meeting. 


Jointly initiated by Alliance for Educational Administration at Marine-related Universities, along with such institutions as Ocean University of China, Dalian Ocean University, Guangdong Ocean University, Shanghai Ocean University, Xiamen University and Zhejiang Ocean University, the Alliance for Marine Courses at Marine-related Universities has seen a huge response from the marine-related institutions across the nation. 


Chaoxing Group will provide the alliance with technical support and platform operation services. The secretariat of the alliance is housed at Caoxing Group.


The meeting deliberated and approved the alliance’s constitution. OUC was recommended as the first chairman institution and Dalian Ocean University as the vice chairman. The executive members include Ocean University of China, Dalian Ocean University, Shandong University, Guangdong Ocean University, Shanghai Ocean University, Zhejiang Ocean University and Tianjin University of Science and Technology. There are altogether 21 members in the alliance.


Que Chao, general manager of Chaoxing Group, was present at the meeting.
