Approved by the CPC committee of the Ministry of Education (MOE), Mr. Ju Chuanjin was appointed secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) committee of Ocean University of China (OUC) on Sept. 8, 2015.

The appointment of the new secretary was announced by Mr. Du Yubo, vice minister of education, who is also the deputy secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of MOE, at a conference attended by OUC faculty members and administrative staff. Mr. Liu Dawei, director-general of the personnel department of Ministry of Education, Mr. Shi Peiwei, deputy director of the organization department under the CPC Shandong provincial committee, and Mr. Fu Huafeng, inspector of the committee on college and university work of the CPC Shandong provincial committee were also present at the meeting.

Party Secretary Ju’s historical leadership roles include: assistant to the president at Peking University from 2001 to 2003, vice president and member of the CPC Standing Committee of Peking University from 2003 to 2013, inspector with the general office of Ministry of Education from 2013 to 2015.
