Vice President of Clarkson University Visits OUC


Professor Li Huajun, vice president of the Ocean University of China (OUC), met with the vice president of Clarkson University, Kathryn Johnson, on January 26, 2015, at the Laoshan Campus. Both sides discussed possibilities of cooperation in student exchange and joint educational programs.


At the meeting in the No. 3 Meeting Room in the Xingyuan Administration Building, Vice President Li welcomed Vice President Kathryn Johnson on behalf of OUC. He said Clarkson University, a comprehensive university with a long history, is one of the best engineering universities in the United States. With the MOU for cooperation signed between OUC and Clarkson, OUC is willing to carry out cooperative education and research programs as well as undergraduate and graduate exchanges.


During the meeting, Vice President Kathryn Johnson gave the OUC participants an overview of Clarkson University. She discussed issues concerning joint research, student exchange, study abroad programs, and mutual visits of faculty members to each other’s universities with Professor Wu Kejian, Deputy Dean of the College of Physical and Environmental Oceanography, Professor Zhang Guanghai, Deputy Dean of the College of Management, and Professor Li Tie, Assistant Dean of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.


Representatives from OUC’s International Office were also present at the meeting.
