Prof. Li Huajun, Vice President of the Ocean University of China (OUC), met with the delegation of the University of New South Wales (Canberra), led by its Vice President, Prof. John Arnold on October 23, 2014.
Invited to attend the 90th anniversary of OUC, the delegation, on behalf of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), granted a doctoral scholarship to OUC doctorate candidates.
Vice President Li reviewed the past achievements of the cooperation between the two sides. He said that the past several years witnessed a sound development of the cooperation between the two sides, and he would like to, on behalf of the OUC exchange students who have obtained doctorates from UNSW, express his sincere thanks to UNSW’s support. And he also thanked UNSW for their offer of doctoral scholarships to OUC students.
Looking to the future, he said, that OUC would play its part to launch and carry out more exchange programs to further the cooperative relations between the two sides.
In his speech, Vice President John Arnold expressed his hope to further develop the friendly ties between the two sides and to strengthen its cooperation with OUC, and he said that more students are welcome to New South Wales to pursue their degrees.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged gifts after Prof. John Arnold presented the letter granting the scholarship to Prof. Li Huajun.
Also present at the meeting were representatives from the International Office, the Finance Department, the Graduate School, the College of International Education, the College of Law and Politics, and the Sino-Australia Research Center for Coastal Management.
