Vice President Li Huajun speaks at the roundtable dialogue
A delegation from Ocean University of China (OUC), led by Vice President Li Huajun, attended both the Sino-UK Roundtable Dialogue for University Presidents and Vice Chancellors held at Tsinghua University on April 22, 2014, and the second session of the Sino-UK High-level Consultation on People-to-people Exchange held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on April 23,2014.
The dialogue focused on three topics, the modern university system, cooperation between universities and business, and the Sino-UK Educational cooperation and joint training programs. Vice President Li Huajun shared his ideas concerning the latest changes in the governance structure of British universities and differences between the Chinese and the British university systems, receiving positive response from many of the representatives.
Vice President Li was also invited to attend the second session of the Sino-UK High-Level Consultation on People-to-people Exchange, hosted by Madam Liu Yandong, Vice Premier of China, and Mr. Jeremy Hunt, British Secretary of State for Health.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of China and the British Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills, and co-hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange and the British Council, the Sino-UK Roundtable Dialogue for University Presidents and Vice Chancellors was attended by over 50 representatives from 12 universities, such as Tsinghua University and Peking University in China, as well as the University of Edinburgh, University of Warwick, and the University of Nottingham in the UK.
