Tamaki Matsuoka(松冈环) is a famous Japanese left-wing scholar and social activist, referred to as “ the conscience of Japan” by the Chinese media for her strong claims that Japan should deeply reflect on its war crimes against China and its savage acts in the Nanjing massacre. She collected testimonies from 102 Japanese veterans to finish her book “The War of Nanjing, in the Quest of the Sealed Memories” and made the 2009 documentary “Torn Memories of Nanjing” after interviewing hundreds of Japanese veterans and Chinese survivors of the Nanjing massacre. She has long been devoted to the truth of the Nanjing Massacre and has uncovered many precious documents during the Japanese invasion of China. She is committed to address this issue both at home and abroad to promote friendly ties between China and Japan, safeguarding world peace.
