The “TeachingCenter for Chemistry Experiments” was established in December 1999, and wasapproved for “ShanDong province experimental teaching demonstration center” in2008. After years of construction, the center has become an important base fortraining in chemistry experiment teaching, marine specialty practice andcultivating the ability of innovation.
The center consists of basic chemistry lab,chemical engineering and technology lab and marine chemistry lab. Relying onthe excellent teachers and technicians in the shool, the center with a total of24 experimental technicians whose have received master degree and six of themare senior technical engineers.
Experiment center is a major service in theteaching of undergraduate course, now take chemistry, chemical engineering andtechnology, marine science, environmental science and engineering, materialsscience, earth science, life science, aquatic products, medicine and othersubjects categories a total of 20 undergraduate experimental teaching. Everyyear nearly 3500 students of the experimental teaching task and a total of 15opening chemistry experiment are borne by the center which undertake the taskof experiment teaching more than 260000 hours.
At the same time, the center is theimportant base of graduation thesis, student research training program andscience and technology innovation activities. The center also provideexperimental platform for scientific research and graduate education, realizingthe multifunction of the chemical experiment teaching platform support.
The center carry out thick foundation,characteristic, innovation, high quality of the experimental teachingreform policy. According to the subject development regularity and students'cognitive level of integration and optimization of experiment course, the openexperimental teaching system with characteristic of basic chemical experiment-comprehensivedesign experiment - professional internships - innovative entrepreneurialactivity integration was constructed.
Schoolnot only attaches great importance to the construction of experimental teachingbut also increasing the funds investment. The center is now a total of morethan 3400 experimental instrument, totaling more than 6200 ten thousand yuan.
