On February 20, 2019，Prof. Susanne Leist, Vice President of the University of Regensburg (UR), and Prof. Werner Kunz of the Institute of Physics and Theoretical Chemistry visited Ocean University of China (OUC). On October 30, 2018, Director Russell T. Hill of the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET), University of Maryland, led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). Vice President Yan Ju received the guests at the Academic Exchange Center and the two sides engaged in a discussion about student exchanges and research cooperation.

From October 29 to 30, the 2018 Ceremony of the Qilu Friendship Award was held in the city of Weihai, at which Prof. Thomas Bianchi, a Foreign Expert at Ocean University of China (OUC) and Professor of University of Florida, was presented with the award.

On October 23, 2018, Pro Vice-Chancellor Qing-Long Han of Australia’s Swinburne University of Technology (SUT) visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Prof. Li Huajun, Academician and OUC’s Vice President, received the guests, and the two sides engaged in a discussion about joint education and research cooperation.　

On October 22, 2018, President Park Han-il of Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). President Yu Zhigang received the guests.

On October 12, 2018, Director Margaret Leinen of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Vice President Yan Ju received the guests in the fourth conference room of the Xingyuan Building, and the two sides engaged in an in-depth discussion about the joint education program for graduate students.

On October 12, 2018, Chris McEntee, Executive Director of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). From September 30 to October 2, 2018, President Yu Zhigang of Ocean University of China (OUC), at the invitation of Prof. Piotr Gwizdala, Rector of University of Gdańsk (UG), and Mr. Jacek Namiesnik, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT), led a delegation to these two Polish universities and signed cooperative agreements with them.

From September 27 to 28, 2018, President Yu Zhigang of Ocean University of China (OUC), at the invitation of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (TSNUK) and the National Technical University of Ukraine (NTUU), led a delegation to these two famous universities in Ukraine, to expand cooperation along the Belt and Road and to explore ways to develop and share high-quality higher education resources.

On August 30, 2018, Prof. Taejun Han, Acting President of Ghent University Global Campus (GUGC) led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). Vice President Li Huajun received the guests and the two sides had a meeting.
