On July 3, 2018, Academician Li Huajun, Vice President of Ocean University of China (OUC) met with Deputy Director Guy Masters of Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), Professor Philip Gilmartin, Pro-vice-chancellor of University of East Anglia (UEA) and Vice Chancellor Nor Aieni Hj. Mokhtar of University of Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) during the Global Ocean Summit 2018 at the Pilot National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology (Qingdao).

On July 3, 2018, President Yu Zhigang of Ocean University of China (OUC) met with Rector Dag Rune Olsen of the University of Bergen (Norway). The two sides had extensive exchanges on the establishment of the Sars-Fang Research Center for Marine Molecular Biology which culminated in signing a cooperative agreement.

On 13th June, 2018, Mr. Masood Khalid, Ambassador of Pakistan to the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Muhammad Abdullah, Second Secretary, visited Ocean University of China (OUC).

From May 22 to 26, Wang Jianmin, Vice President for Finance of Ocean University of China (OUC), led a delegation to Saint-Petersburg State University (SPbU). He participated in the sixth Forum on China-Nordic Arctic Research, and visited the Norwegian Polar Institute, University of Tromso (UiT).

From May 25 to 26, Yu Zhigang, President of Ocean University of China, led a delegation to visit Pukyong National University (South Korea).

On May 10, a University of New South Wales (Canberra) delegation led by David Lovell, Director of International Affairs and Prof. Wang Xiaohua, Director of the Sino-Australian Research Center for Coastal Management (SARCCM), visited Ocean University of China (OUC) and participated in a ceremony celebrating the tenth anniversary of the cooperative agreement between the two universities.

On May 9, a James Cook University (JCU) delegation, led by President Sandra Harding and Vice President Iain Gordon and Melissa Banks, visited Ocean University of China (OUC) from Australia.

On May 2nd 2018 President Yu Zhigang met with Jin-Ung Park, the new South Korean Consul General in Qingdao in the reception room of the Xingyuan Building.

On April 20, Assistant Principal Ruth Moir of Heriot-Watt University led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). Vice President Li Weiran of OUC met with the guests in the conference room of Xingyuan Building. The two sides had in-depth discussions on cooperation and signed an inter-university cooperation agreement and MoU for the application of a joint education program under the Ministry of Education.

On April 19, President Dag Rune Olsen of the University of Bergen (UiB) led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC), which was met by President Yu Zhigang on Laoshan campus. The two sides had in-depth discussions on the collaboration between the two universities and signed an MoU of cooperation.

On April 18, a University of Windsor (Canada) delegation led by Vice President of Research Michael Siu and Vice President of International Affairs Diana Kao visited OUC. Vice President Li Weiran of OUC met with the guests in the conference room of Xingyuan Building and the two sides had a meeting to discuss potential cooperation.

On April 17, Director Ole Arve Misund, Vice Director Nalan Koc and Dr. Mats Granskog of the Norwegian Polar Institute visited Ocean University of China (OUC) and had a meeting with representatives from the Key Laboratory of Polar Oceanographic Process and Global Ocean Changes (Key Polar Laboratory) as part of the joint International Cooperation Seminar on North Pole Research.Prof. Wang Jianmin, Treasurer of OUC, also attended the seminar.

On March 27, 2018, the Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) delegation, led by President Linda Gainma and Vice President Preyanuch Kitrungrotcharearn, visited Ocean University of China (OUC) and the two parties signed a cooperative MoU.

Prof. Wu Lixin, Vice President of OUC and a Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) upon invitation in the latter half of February, 2018.
