OUC Vice President Li Huajun visited the provincial government of Batangas and the National University of Batangas in Philippines during April 17-21, 2017, at the invitation of Hermilando I. Mandanas, Governor of Batangas, and President Tirso A. Ronquillo of the NUB.

During 24-27 of April, 2017, OUC Vice President Li Weiran visited Heriot-Watt University, University of Edinburgh and University of Hull in UK for cooperation. The delegation visited the relevant labs on teaching and research before meeting the OUC graduates who were there for further study.

On the morning of April 27, President Yu Zhigang met with Prof. Timothy Ian Eglinton, Fellow of the Royal Society and world renowned organic geochemist after he chaired the international assessment on OUC-based Key Laboratory of Marine Chemistry Theory and Technology, Ministry of Education.

On April 13, 2017, the 4-member delegation of Thailand Kasetsart University visited OUC, headed by President Chongrak Wachrinrat. OUC President Yu Zhigang met with the guests and signed the cooperation agreement in Shengli Building of OUC Yushan Campus.

On April 12-13, 2017, China-ASEAN FEN President Forum and the Workshop on Marine and Aquatic Technology were held in Qingdao under the auspices of OUC, ASEAN Fishery Education Network, China-ASEAN Joint Center for Research and Promotion of Mariculture, Qingdao Municipal Government and China-ASEAN Center.

The delegation from the University of Haifa, Israel, visited OUC on March 23, 2017, composed of Prof. Gustavo Mesch, UH President in charge of teaching affairs, Prof. Dan Tchernov, Dean of Marine Life Department and Xu Hang, Director of UH Shanghai International Research Center. OUC President Yu Zhigang met and signed MOU with Prof. Mesch in Xingyuan Building, Laoshan Campus.

OUC President Yu Zhigang met with President KIM Young-seup of South Korean Pukyong National University in OUC Laoshan Campus on January 12, 2017, signing the MOU of strategic partnership after fruitful talks on bilateral cooperation and rotating affairs of the International Alliance of Marine-Related Institutions (IAMRI).

On December 19th, 2016, ceremony was held in OUC Laoshan Library to appoint Professor Venu Ittekkot, Former Director of Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology (ZMT) Bremen, as OUC Advisory Professor. President Yu Zhigang granted the certificate to Prof. Ittekkot.

OUC President Yu Zhigang visited University of Arizona on December 1-2, 2016 after visiting Texas A&M and Auburn University. With Yu during the visit were Leaders from OUC Law and Politics School, Management College and OUC International Office.

On December 5, OUC Vice President Chen Rui met with Prof. Martynyuk Victor Semenovich, Vice President of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, and Prof. Dmytryshyn Dmitry, Vice President of Odessa National Polytechnic University, in the First Meeting Room of Laoshan Library.

At the invitation of Michael Young, President of Texas A & M University, and Jay Gogue, President of Auburn University, OUC President Yu Zhigang visited the two universities in the United States and had fruitful meetings with the long-term partners on strategic cooperation and how to develop the Joint Research Center.

OUC Vice President Chen Rui met with Ruth Moir, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University, UK, on December 2 at the Third Meeting Room of Xingyuan Building.

President Nor Aieni Hj. Mokhtar of the University of Malaysia Terengganu visited Ocean University of China on November 25, 2016. OUC President Yu Zhigang met with the delegation in the Second Meeting Room of Xingyuan Building at OUC Laoshan.
