OUC President Yu Zhigang visited University of Arizona on December 1-2, 2016 after visiting Texas A&M and Auburn University. With Yu during the visit were Leaders from OUC Law and Politics School, Management College and OUC International Office.

On December 5, OUC Vice President Chen Rui met with Prof. Martynyuk Victor Semenovich, Vice President of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, and Prof. Dmytryshyn Dmitry, Vice President of Odessa National Polytechnic University, in the First Meeting Room of Laoshan Library.

At the invitation of Michael Young, President of Texas A & M University, and Jay Gogue, President of Auburn University, OUC President Yu Zhigang visited the two universities in the United States and had fruitful meetings with the long-term partners on strategic cooperation and how to develop the Joint Research Center.

OUC Vice President Chen Rui met with Ruth Moir, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University, UK, on December 2 at the Third Meeting Room of Xingyuan Building.

President Nor Aieni Hj. Mokhtar of the University of Malaysia Terengganu visited Ocean University of China on November 25, 2016. OUC President Yu Zhigang met with the delegation in the Second Meeting Room of Xingyuan Building at OUC Laoshan.

OUC Vice President Li Huajun visited Kasetsart University at the invitation on November 1, 2016. Discussions were made at the meeting about establishing Sino-Thai Development Center for Research and Education in Marine and Fishery Sciences.

OUC-China team won the gold award of the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition on November 1, 2016 in Boston, United States. It was the first time for OUC to win the gold award after taking part in it for 6 times.

OUC delegation was invited to take part in the International Fisheries Symposium in Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, from October 31 to November 2, signing the MOU on cooperation with ASEAN Fisheries Education Network as a new member of ASEAN-FEN+.

On October 17th, the 16-member delegation from Germany visited OUC headed by Prof.Otmar Wiestler,President of Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, Prof.Martin Visbeck, team leader of Physical Oceanography, GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel, and Prof.Corinna Schrum, Director of Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht Center for Materials and Coastal Research (HZG).

Global Economy & Governance Conference was held by OUC School of Economics at Laoshan Campus Library. OUC President Yu Zhigang was present at the meeting.

Ceremony was held on the morning of October 9, 2016 in Shengli Building of OUC Yushan Campus for conferring Honorary Professor on Dr.George R.Stark, Academician of the US National Academy of Sciences, UK Royal Society and American Academy of Medical Sciences. OUC Vice President Li Weiran conferred the certificate to Academician George R.Stark.

Wolfgang Kubin recently won China’s Friendship Award as the Director of German Department of OUC School of Foreign Languages, and Guest Professor of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met with Prof.Kubin and 49 award winners on September 30, 2016.

OUC Vice President Li Huajun met with Director Ariane Plourde, Prof.Jean-Pierre Gagne and Prof.Xie Huirong from the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Quebec at Rimouski on September 22, 2016 in the 3rd Meeting Room of Xingyuan Building.

Zimbabwean delegation visited OUC on September 2, 2016, headed by Christopher Pandoti Mushowe, Minister of Media, Information, and Broadcasting Services, who is also the Managing Director of the Presidential Scholarship. The welcome ceremony was held at the First Meeting Room of OUC Library by Ju Chuanjin, Secretary of CPC OUC Committee and Yu Zhigang, OUC President.
