On August 30, a ceremony was held on Yushan campus to appoint Academician David J. Craik, an outstanding professor at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland, and a fellow of the Royal Society and the Australian Academy of Sciences, as an honorary professor of OUC.

On June 8th, Elsevier announced the CiteScore (2022) for academic journals. Marine Life Science Technology (MLST), an English journal jointly hosted by Ocean University of China and Laoshan Laboratory, received a CiteScore of 8.2, the first score it received since its inclusion in the Scopus database last year. It ranked the 13th among the 228 journals in Aquatic Science in Agricultural and Biological Sciences, and the 10th in the 136 journals in Marine Science in Earth and Planetary Sciences.C
