On July 14, Yang Hua, Director of the South-South and Triangular Cooperation Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). During the visit, Hua Yang and her delegation toured the OUC History Museum and the Marine Science and Technology Achievements Exhibition Hall. Following the tour, Zhang Junfeng, President of OUC, met with the delegation, and the two sides discussed ways to deepen exchanges and cooperation.
President Zhang Junfeng welcomed Yang Hua and her delegation and briefly introduced OUC’s distinctive educational strengths, disciplinary advantages, and achievements in internationalization. He noted that since the two sides signed an MOU in June 2025, the scope of their cooperation had continued to expand and initial results had begun to emerge. He expressed the hope that the two sides would further strengthen their partnership, identify more areas of mutual interest, and continue to advance practical cooperation, jointly contributing Chinese solutions and expertise to global food security and sustainable ocean development.
Yang Hua expressed her sincere appreciation for OUC’s warm hospitality. She said she was deeply impressed by the university’s achievements in marine science, fisheries, and food engineering. Noting that FAO attaches great importance to cooperation with Chinese universities, she expressed the hope that FAO and OUC would pursue deeper cooperation in areas such as providing technical support to developing countries and cultivating talent with a global outlook, taking their exchanges and cooperation to a new level.
