On June 10, a delegation led by Professor Rufus Black, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Tasmania (UTAS), visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Professor Zhang Junfeng, President of OUC, met with the delegation. The two sides held discussions on deepening their strategic partnership and expanding practical cooperation across multiple fields.
President Zhang Junfeng extended a warm welcome to Vice-Chancellor Rufus Black and the delegation. He introduced the recent development of OUC and reviewed the fruitful outcomes of exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in recent years, especially the achievements made through the Sino-foreign cooperative education program in marine science and the OUC-UTAS Joint Research Center in talent development and scientific research. He noted that such practical cooperation would not have been possible without the concerted efforts and close collaboration of the two universities, and expressed the hope that the two sides would continue to deepen their strategic partnership, further advance exchanges and cooperation in more fields, and achieve mutual benefit and common development.
Vice-Chancellor Rufus Black expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and congratulated OUC on its recent achievements. He noted that OUC and UTAS are important strategic partners, with a solid foundation, fruitful outcomes, and broad prospects for cooperation. He expressed the hope that the two universities would take this visit as an opportunity to further expand exchanges and cooperation in aquaculture and fisheries, strengthen faculty and student mobility, jointly address common challenges in global ocean sustainability and aquaculture, and bring the partnership to a new level.

On June 11, the delegation visited the College of Fisheries and held discussions with faculty representatives. The two sides agreed on strengthening student exchanges, faculty and student visits, and joint research. The delegation also visited the Laboratory of Pathology and Immunology of Aquatic Animals, the Institute of Evolution and Marine Biodiversity, and the Deep Sea and Polar Fisheries Research Center.
