On May 18, a delegation led by Fernando Pedraza, Vice President of the University of La Rochelle, visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Professor Liu Yong, Vice President of OUC, met with the delegation. The two sides held discussions on deepening inter-university cooperation and expanding areas of exchange.
Vice President Liu Yong welcomed Vice President Pedraza and his delegation, and introduced OUC’s distinctive educational features, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in international cooperation. He noted that the two universities enjoy a long-standing friendship and have carried out practical cooperation in areas such as student exchange and joint undergraduate education, yielding fruitful results. OUC has developed a strong foundation in marine science, environmental engineering, and chemistry and materials, which is highly aligned with the disciplinary layout of the University of La Rochelle, providing broad space for cooperation. He expressed the hope that the two sides would take this visit as an opportunity to deepen all-round cooperation, leverage each other’s strengths, and achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.
Vice President Fernando Pedraza spoke highly of OUC’s educational strength and international influence, and introduced the scale, disciplinary development, and distinctive programs of the University of La Rochelle. He noted that the University of La Rochelle has a solid academic foundation and high-quality educational resources in multiple fields, and expressed the hope that the two sides would further broaden the scope of cooperation, explore more models of cooperation, and jointly organize cultural activities, so as to bring the partnership between the two universities to a new level.
