On April 14, a delegation led by Professor Philippe Dépincé, Director of Polytech Nantes, visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Professor Fan Qiwei, Vice President of OUC, met with the guests, and the two sides held discussions on deepening cooperation.

Vice President Fan Qiwei noted that cooperation between OUC and Polytech Nantes has spanned more than a decade, fostering a strong friendship between the two institutions. Since the signing of the cooperation agreement and the establishment of the Sino-French Engineering Education Research Center in 2013, the two sides have achieved fruitful results in the joint bachelor’s-master’s program for outstanding engineers. He expressed OUC’s hope to further expand cooperation with the French side in frontier fields, including artificial intelligence, marine technology, and smart energy, and to advance the bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Professor Dépincé spoke highly of OUC’s international influence and fully affirmed the achievements the two institutions have made in talent cultivation and scientific research. He suggested that the two sides pool their strengths and resources to enhance cooperation in areas such as AI-empowered teaching and the cultivation of future engineers, thereby promoting deeper integration of educational resources and complementary advantages.
During the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as joint doctoral programs, joint research platforms, and interdisciplinary development.
