OUC Advanced Cooperation with Vietnamese Universities

On April 14, the China–Vietnam Forum on Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation was held in Beijing. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, attended the forum and delivered a policy speech. Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, addressed the forum. Professor Liu Yong, Vice President of Ocean University of China (OUC), was invited to attend the forum and met with leaders of Can Tho University and Nha Trang University to advance practical cooperation in fields such as marine science and aquaculture.


 


Professor Liu Yong held discussions with Le Van Lam, Vice Rector of Can Tho University. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on inter-university cooperation, agreeing to focus on their strengths in marine science and aquaculture, jointly advance talent cultivation, scientific research, and the translation of research outcomes, thereby better serving the development of the China-Vietnam blue economy and the sustainable development of fisheries.

 

Professor Liu Yong also held discussions with Quach Hoai Nam, Rector of Nha Trang University. The two sides reviewed their sound cooperation under the framework of the International Alliance of Marine-related Institutions (IAMRI) and reached consensus on jointly organizing the IAMRI annual meeting, strengthening scientific research cooperation, and deepening the friendly ties between the two universities. 


OUC will further promote exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese universities such as Can Tho University and Nha Trang University, continue to expand China-Vietnam cooperation in marine education, and contribute to the development of friendly relations between the two countries.
