Established in 2022, the Secretariat for International Cooperation in Multidisciplinary Polar Research (SICMPR) serves as a platform for academic exchange events between Ocean University of China (OUC) and foreign universities and research institutions to promote international cooperation in polar research.
Using a multidisciplinary approach, SICMPR is dedicated to improving the understanding of changes in the Arctic and Antarctic and their global impacts. SICMPR organizes international cooperation in polar science, carrying out cooperative polar expeditions with institutions in the United States, Canada, Norway, Korea, Russia, Australia and other countries, and facilitating in-depth research cooperation with scientists from foreign countries.
SICMPR updates news of OUC’s polar scientific expeditions and research highlights on the website of the Key Lab of Polar Oceanography and Global Ocean Change (POGOC) and organizes the International Symposium on Polar Ocean and Global Change (iSPOGOC) every year.
