On June 8, which marks the 17th World Oceans Day and the 18th National Ocean Publicity Day, the launch ceremony of Blue New Opportunities, an integrated media program produced by the CMG Finance and Economics Program Center, was held at OUC. The event was co-hosted by the CMG Finance and Economics Program Center and OUC. The Research Team on Financial Support for Marine Economy and Marine Disaster Management was invited to participate in the event. Chief expert of the team, Professor Zhao Xin, delivered a keynote report entitled “New Industries, New Business Forms and New Opportunities: Insights from the Blue Book of Marine Economy”.
In her report, Professor Zhao introduced the development process and academic value of the team’s flagship research brand, the Blue Book of Marine Economy. Since their launch in 2022, the series of blue books has aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of the development trends of the marine economy, identifying and analyzing major issues in its high-quality development, and offering ideas and insights on supporting emerging marine industries, enhancing the resilience of marine economic growth, and improving the international competitiveness of marine industries. Through the series of Blue Books, OUC has contributed its important insights to the country’s development of the Blue Economy.
