Three OUC Think Tanks Selected for the 2025 AMI Think Tank List

On September 19, the 8th China Think Tank Construction and Evaluation Summit Forum, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies, was held in Beijing. At the forum, the results of the China Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Research Project (2025) were officially released. Three think tanks developed by OUC institutes, including the Institute of Marine Development, the Polar Research Centre, and the China Business Working Capital Management Research Center, were selected for the 2025 AMI Think Tank List.

In recent years, OUC has attached great importance to the development of think tanks. Guided by the instructions contained in General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply letter to all OUC faculty and students and driven by national strategic needs, the university has optimized and adjusted its disciplinary layout, promoted interdisciplinary integration, and continuously strengthened the development of new university think tanks with Chinese characteristics. These efforts have effectively boosted both the output and application of OUC’s think tank research. Focusing on key areas such as the marine economy, marine culture, and polar research, OUC think tanks have produced a series of influential blue books, including the Blue Book of China’s Marine Economy, Annual Report on the Development of China’s Maritime Culture, and Report on Arctic Region Development. They have also undertaken numerous regional marine economic planning projects and participated deeply in the drafting of major national and coastal provincial/municipal marine-related legislation and plans, contributing OUC’s wisdom to the endeavor of building China into a strong maritime country.
