On October 27, a delegation from Venezuela, led by Mr. José Gregorio Briceño, Deputy Minister of Fishery and Aquaculture Processing and Distribution, visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Vice President Wang Houjie met with the delegation, and the two sides held discussions on exchanges and cooperation in scientific research.

Vice President Wang emphasized that OUC attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Latin American countries. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to promote academic exchanges and collaborative research with Venezuela in fisheries and aquaculture, achieve mutual benefit and shared development, and jointly advance international educational exchange and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, while deepening the longstanding friendship between China and Venezuela.
Mr. José Gregorio Briceño stated that the visit aimed to strengthen collaboration in fisheries and aquaculture, discuss training programs in China for relevant policymakers and practitioners, and carry out joint research on the sustainable development and utilization of fisheries resources. He expressed hope that pragmatic cooperation would promote common development for both sides.
