On October 17, a delegation led by Vladimir Solovyov, Chairman of Russia’s Union of Journalists, visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Vice President Liu Yong met with the delegation. The two sides exchanged views on China-Russia cultural exchanges, scientific research, and talent cultivation.

Vice President Liu extended a warm welcome on behalf of the university. He noted that OUC has actively expanded cooperation with Russian universities and research institutions, achieving positive results in building joint research platforms, conducting academic collaborations, and promoting exchanges and reciprocal visits. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to expand cooperation in areas such as marine science, polar research, and cultural communication, jointly tell the story of China-Russia maritime cooperation, and further promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Chairman Solovyov highlighted Russia’s extensive experience in polar research, icebreaker construction, and the development of Arctic shipping routes. He expressed his willingness to actively promote practical cooperation in joint scientific expeditions and contribute to China-Russia cultural, scientific, and educational exchanges.
