On September 14, Liu Yong, Vice President of Ocean University of China (OUC), attended the Adelaide University (AU) Partnership Ceremony in Beijing. He co-hosted the AU–OUC partnership ceremony alongside Professor Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) of AU.

On behalf of OUC, Liu Yong extended congratulations on the establishment of AU. He noted that the University of Adelaide has long been one of OUC’s most important partners, and that the jointly established Haide College has achieved remarkable results. He emphasized that OUC will deepen strategic cooperation with AU, continuing to advance joint student training, academic exchange, and collaborative research, while working together to address global challenges and contribute to Sino-Australian friendship and the progress of human society.
Professor Jessica Gallagher reviewed the fruitful outcomes of collaboration between the two universities. She highlighted that AU brings together the strengths of its two founding institutions, driving innovation in teaching and learning and producing research with global impact. She expressed hope that AU and OUC will further strengthen cooperation, jointly explore new frontiers, foster innovation, and write a new chapter in their collaborative partnership.
