Delegation from the University of Auckland Visited OUC

On August 28, a delegation from the University of Auckland, led by Wei Gao, Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Honorary Chairman of the New Zealand Chinese Scientists Association, and Professor at the University of Auckland, visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Li Ming, Chairman of the OUC Council, met with the delegation. The two sides held discussions on further strengthening exchanges and cooperation.

Chairman Li Ming extended a warm welcome to Professor Gao and his delegation. He noted that OUC has actively expanded its exchanges and collaborations with universities in New Zealand, establishing multiple platforms for scientific cooperation. Since the establishment of inter-university relations in 2008, the two institutions have made solid progress in scientific research and talent cultivation. Li expressed hope that this visit would serve as a new opportunity to deepen collaboration in materials science and engineering, ocean engineering, and related fields, while promoting faculty and student exchanges, academic cooperation, joint training of students, and collaborative research, so as to achieve mutual benefit and shared development.

Professor Gao gave a brief introduction to the University of Auckland and expressed the university’s strong commitment to its partnership with OUC. He said that this visit aimed to strengthen cooperation in materials science, chemistry, and related disciplines, and to promote academic exchanges, joint research, and joint postgraduate  programs, thereby deepening the partnership between the two universities and advancing educational collaboration between China and New Zealand.
