On June 26, Mr. Darren Turner, Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of South Australia (UniSA), led a delegation to Ocean University of China (OUC). Vice President Liu Yong met with the guests at Laoshan Campus.

Vice President Liu Yong extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He emphasized that OUC remains committed to global engagement and has continuously strengthened cooperation with leading global universities in areas such as joint talent cultivation, scientific research, and academic exchange, yielding fruitful outcomes. He noted that as UniSA and the University of Adelaide are currently undergoing a merger, OUC looks forward to deepening its strategic cooperation with the newly formed Adelaide University (AU). This includes further developing the Haide College and expanding collaboration into new fields, with the aim of achieving mutually beneficial development.
Mr. Turner expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and spoke highly of OUC’s achievements and development. He provided an update on the progress and future plans of the merger. He expressed his hope that both sides will strengthen communication and continue to advance practical cooperation in joint education programs, collaborative training, and faculty and student exchanges, to realize mutual benefit and shared growth.

The two sides held in-depth discussions on future collaboration. Prior to the meeting, Mr. Turner visited Haide College, where he received an overview of the college’s operations and was briefed on its accomplishments in cultivating international talent since its establishment.
