Exhibition of Award-Winning Works of the Jacques Rougerie Foundation International Architecture and Innovation Competition Held

On October 26, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Ocean University of China, the exhibition “Living in the Deep Sea and Outer Space” was launched at the West Coast Campus. Vice President Wang Xuepeng attended the opening ceremony.


In his remarks, Wang Xuepeng briefly reviewed the progress of collaboration between the two sides and extended his congratulations on the successful opening of the exhibition. He noted that the displayed works would broaden students’ perspectives, inspire their creativity and passion for innovation, and foster a sense of responsibility for protecting the ocean. He expressed the university’s commitment to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with French partners in marine science, technology and culture, to jointly contribute to the development of marine undertakings.


Jacques Rougerie, Academician of the Institut de France and founder of SeaOrbiter, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed his congratulations on OUC’s centennial anniversary. He fully affirmed the university’s leading role in marine science and expressed confidence in OUC’s future development and the bilateral cooperation. He also thanked OUC for supporting the exhibition, and expressed his hope that it would bring new vitality to marine education.


At the opening ceremony, Jacques Rougerie was appointed as an Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering at OUC.
