On Sept. 9, Prof. Richard A. Williams, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University led a delegation to OUC. President Zhang Junfeng met with the guests. 

President Zhang Junfeng extended a warm welcome to Prof. Williams and his delegation. He fully acknowledged the fruitful outcomes achieved in the OUC-Heriot Watt joint education program in computer science and technology. He expressed the expectation to further cultivate international talent and strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation.

Prof. Williams expressed his thanks for the warm reception and congratulated OUC on its centennial anniversary. He expected that the two universities would continue to work closely through cooperative education programs, joint cultivation of PhD students, faculty exchange, and collaborative research. 

The delegation also attended the opening ceremony for the new students of the joint program. Prof. Williams and Prof. Lu Guangzhi, Vice Chair of Ocean University of China Council delivered speeches.
