On June 12th, Dr. Liesl Folks, Senior Vice President and Provost of the University of Arizona (UA) led a delegation to OUC. President Yu Zhigang and Vice President Liu Yong met with the guests and had a discussion about deepening cooperation between the two universities.
President Yu briefly reviewed the history of friendly exchanges between the two universities. He emphasized that the most representative achievement of the collaboration between the two universities is the joint undergraduate law program. He said that the two sides should continue to ensure the success of the program and expand it to the postgraduate level. He also suggested extending the cooperation to areas such as accounting, finance, quantum science, optics, pharmacy, life sciences, and geology.
Dr. Folks spoke highly of the achievements of OUC and the partnership between the two universities. She expressed her expectations for more in-depth cooperation in the future, especially in joint education at the postgraduate level and in other areas such as faculty exchange, scientific research, and the promotion of successful collaboration experiences.
Prior to the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Law to meet with the faculty and students of the joint undergraduate law program and answer the students’ questions about studying and living in the United States.
